kipisi is either the act of cutting, or the result of it: a piece or segment. A slice of cake is a kipisi, and so is the act of slicing cake. kipisi is especially useful because it can describe the act of cutting one object into multiple pieces without controversy or confusion.

Note that while this word is very common, it is less common than most other words in this dictionary. Speakers who don't use it use "tu" to describe the act of cutting, and replace its "piece" meaning in many ways situationally.
