soko describes fungus. For many people, soko only describes the fruiting body of large fungus, i.e. mushrooms, but to others, soko refers to mycelium, and also to mold and fungal infections, even microorganisms in the fungus kingdom. People use this word if fungus doesn't seem like a type of "kasi."

soko is common, but not as common as most other words in this dictionary. Speakers who don't use soko usually replace it with "kasi."
